About John
In our lives, we sometimes need someone who is committed to really understanding us but who is outside of our usual circle of friends, co-workers, and family. I became a therapist in order to be present with you in the difficult places of your life, to assist you in gaining more insight into your problems, and to help you work through and relieve the suffering you may be experiencing.
My training is in existential, person-centered, Gestalt, and psychodynamic psychotherapies. I hold a Master of Arts degree from the University of West Georgia in Humanistic Psychology, and I have completed a two-year training program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Association of Humanistic Psychology (AHP), American Counseling Association (ACA), and Alabama Counseling Association. I write on the subject of existential psychology and am planning doctoral study in the field of applied psychology.
